Plum Dumplings in the Steamer

Plum Dumplings in the Steamer

Plums wrapped in a delicious quark dough shell. Light and fluffy thanks to the preparation in the steamer

Ingredients (for approx. 4 portions)
60 g room temperature butter
1 egg yolk
1 egg
50 g sugar
250 g quark
160 g flour
Pinch of salt
about 12 large plums

Breadcrumbs
Butter
Sugar

Preparation:
Mix the quark with the egg and the yolk and knead into a dough with the remaining ingredients. Let it rest in the fridge for about 1 hour.

Then wrap the fruit with the dough. It's best to use floured hands for this. Steam the dumplings in a greased dish at 100 degrees for about 15 minutes. Then roll the dumplings in buttered breadcrumbs.

Plum dumplings also work great if you use frozen whole plums, as these are particularly easy to wrap with the dough because you don't have to be so careful.

Preparation of buttered breadcrumbs:
Roast the breadcrumbs in plenty of butter until they are lightly browned. Then reduce the heat and add sugar to taste and heat briefly.
